No
passenger platform, in case of new lines, would be constructed on a curve
having radius than 875 meters.
(e)
In case
of construction of a new platform on the existing line addition/alteration to
existing platforms or in gauge conversion/doubling works, where either the new
platform(s) are to be constructed or the old being dismantled &
reconstructed, efforts should be made to ease out the existing curves having
radii less than 875 meters. However, for these works, having platform
located/to be located on curves with radii less than 875 meters, no condonation
of CRS/Board would be necessary.

The
clearance mentioned above in Item (v) and (vi) will be applicable only in view
yards/electrification works. The various fixtures which are attached to the
track like lock bar, point machine, traction bonds, point and signal rodding
etc. are required to be fitted with the rail can be provided and the clearance
as mentioned in Item 11(v) and 11(vi) above will not be applicable to these items.
Add a new item 17-R in Chapter I-R
‘General’ of Schedule-II at page 73 after the existing last item 16-R
(incorporated vide A&C Slip No.10 of Feb. 1982).
“17-R- in case of all new construction
on electrified routes and other routes which are likely to be electrified(25k.v
a.c.traction in case of additions/alterations to be existing structures on such
routes, if toe of any turnout or cross over is located under over head
structure such as road over bridge or fly over bridge or within 40m (131ft)
from its nearest face, the minimum height of such over head structure shall be
kept as 6250 mm (20ft 6 inches)”

The clearance prescribed in
item 13 of chapter I (“Tunnels through and semi through Girder bridges” should
be adopted for all structures and not only for Tunnels and through Girder
bridges at the time of new construction or additions/alternations to the
existing structures.) If, however, in
cases where 3660 mm (12ft.0 in.) stockis not expected to be introduced, and
adoption of these dimensions would entail heavy expenditure, an administrative
reference should be made to the Board, individually in each case, before
execution of the work, for adopting less clearances.

other 3660mm (12ft.0 in.) stock, clearances prescribed in item 13 of chapter I

for Tunnels and through Girder bridges.

The following are some
recommended dimensions, which are generally considered good practice, the
adoption of which will lead to very desirable uniformity on Indian Railways, but
they are not to be treated as standards, a departure from which requires
sanction. The clearances to fixed
structures and distance centre of tracks prescribed in item 13 of chapter I,
Schedule-I for Tunnels and through Girder bridges should also be adopted for
all structures, and not only for Tunnels and through Girder bridges at the time
of new construction, or additions/alternations to the existing structures. If, however, in cases where 3660 mm
(12ft.)in.) stock is not expected to be introduced and adoption of these
dimensions would, entail heavy expenditure, an administrative reference should
be made to the Board individually in each case before execution of the work for

Renumber the existing Note
(b) as (c) and insert a new Note (b) between (a) & (c) as follows.

centres shall be 4725 mm (15 ft. 6 in) plus the width of any structure like OHE
post, Signal post etc. That way be
provided in between the tracks.

Note:
On line proposed to be electrified on 25 KV AC system, necessary provision
should be made in overline structures and overhead equipment if necessary, by
using longer traction overhead equipment masts to permit possible raising of
the track by 275 mm in future to cater for increased ballast cushion, larger
sleeper thickness and deeper rail sections.
